Margit Wittig is a sculptor, painter and maker. She is best known for her figurative bronze and resin sculpture which she has translated into new interior visualisations.

Her bespoke floor and table lamps handmade to order, are personal pieces of beautiful and functional art. Each is hand cast from combinations of bronze resin sculpture and finished in specially mixed pigments and patinas. Other signature elements are cuboid shapes, profile heads and birds. Margit has now added other decorative lighting forms and occasional tables artistic surfaces to her collection.

Margit studied sculpture and stone carving at the Sculpture Academy and metal work at Central Saint Martins. She also trained as a physiotherapist and used her observations of the human form to inspire her work, with a nod to the sculptures of Brancusi and Giacometti. All these influences inform her designs which are classical yet lyrical.

Working from her studio in London, Margit makes her individual pieces for collectors worldwide.

Margit’s work can be viewed by appointment in her London home gallery.
